Introduction to ShipStation API v2
The ShipStation API v2 integration on iPaaS.com sends the orders your ERP, POS or storefront holds to ShipStation, one ShipStation order per destination when an order ships to several addresses, and brings labels, tracking and LTL freight details back onto the original order. Delivery status updates arrive when ShipStation sends tracking events.
API Version Support
The integration works with the ShipStation API v2 only, connected with a single ShipStation API v2 key. See the ShipStation API v2 Connections and Settings and ShipStation API v2 API Endpoints articles for details.
Data Flows
The table below summarizes the data the integration can move between iPaaS.com and ShipStation, and in which direction. Arrows show the direction of transfer:
→ iPaaS.com writes the data to ShipStation
← iPaaS.com reads the data from ShipStation
Allow Initialization? indicates whether that data can be bulk-loaded from ShipStation when a subscription first connects. Whether a given flow is enabled is configured per subscription during implementation.
iPaaS.com | Direction | ShipStation | Allow Initialization? |
Order | → | Order | |
Order Tracking Number | ← | Label and LTL freight shipment | |
Shipping Method | ← | Carrier service | ✔️ |
Orders carry their ship-to addresses, line items, packages and optional customs details. With multi-address shipping enabled, an order that ships to several addresses becomes one ShipStation order per destination. An order can also request an LTL freight quote or booking through a freight provider account connected in ShipStation.
Versions and Release Notes
The integration follows its own version numbers. The current version is 1.0.0.
Version | Release Notes |
1.0.0 (current) | Initial release. Orders reach ShipStation ready to rate and label, with one ShipStation order per destination when an order ships to several addresses, and cancelling an order in your source system cancels its ShipStation orders that have not been labeled. Labels, tracking numbers, carrier, service and cost come back onto the original order, voided labels are flagged, and delivery status updates arrive when ShipStation sends tracking events. LTL freight can be quoted and booked through the integration, with the Bill of Lading, PRO number, status and freight charge brought back. Every carrier service becomes a shipping method, and every error message carries a code. |
