A Transaction Note is a note attached to an order - text with a type, a timestamp, and a public/private visibility flag. Other systems call it a Comment, Memo, or Order Note.

Notes carry order comments and instructions: gift messages, packing notes, internal memos. The visibility flag separates customer-facing notes from internal ones, so an integration can, for example, move a gift message into the warehouse pick/pack flow while keeping internal notes private. The type lets integrations route different kinds of notes appropriately.
