Introduction to Philips Hue
Philips Hue is a smart lighting platform that allows businesses to programmatically control lighting in stores, warehouses, and offices using connected bulbs and a cloud API.
Used by retailers, warehouse operators, and facility managers looking to leverage lighting as an operational alert mechanism
Particularly useful for teams that want visual, ambient signals for order events, fulfillment thresholds, inventory depletion, or system status
Connecting Philips Hue to iPaaS.com enables integration events, such as a new order, low inventory alert, or fulfillment exception, to trigger lighting changes in your physical environment in real time
API Version Support
The integration uses the Philips Hue cloud API to send light commands to your connected Hue bulbs. The API host and credentials are configured in your subscription's connection settings. See the Philips Hue Connections and Settings and Philips Hue API Endpoints articles for details.
Data Flows
The table below summarizes the data the integration can move between iPaaS.com and Philips Hue, and in which direction. Arrows show the direction of transfer:
→ iPaaS.com writes the data to Philips Hue
← iPaaS.com reads the data from Philips Hue
←→ the data can move in both directions
Allow Initialization? indicates whether that data can be bulk-loaded from Philips Hue when a subscription first connects. Whether a given flow is enabled, and in which direction, is configured per subscription during implementation.
iPaaS.com | Direction | Philips Hue | Allow Initialization? |
Message | → | Light Command |
Integration events from your connected systems — a new order, a low-inventory alert, a fulfillment exception, or a status change — are translated into light commands and sent to your Philips Hue bulbs as real-time visual signals.
