iPaaS.com <> PayTrace: Background

Learn about the PayTrace integration and what it supports.

Introduction to PayTrace

The PayTrace integration on iPaaS.com turns each invoice awaiting payment from your ERP, commerce or other connected system, and each B2B order placed on account (A/R), into a PayTrace invoice that PayTrace emails to your customer with a secure pay link, and brings each card payment and the invoice's paid status back TO iPaaS.com.

API Version Support

The integration uses the PayTrace API v3 and PayTrace's invoicing (Trace AR Checkout). See the PayTrace Connections and Settings and PayTrace API Endpoints articles for details.

Release Notes

1.0 (current)

Initial release. Invoices awaiting payment, and orders placed on account, become PayTrace invoices that PayTrace emails to the customer with a secure pay link. Card payments, refunds, voids and expiries come back onto the same iPaaS.com transaction as payment lines, with the amount paid, the balance and the paid status. Only the amount still owed is requested, counting payments already recorded in your source system. A changed invoice is replaced and a cancelled one is deleted, so customers only ever hold one live pay link. Re-sent invoices are never sent twice, invoices made in PayTrace itself are left untouched, and payment notifications are confirmed by reading PayTrace before anything is recorded. Busy companies are reconciled in full, with a clear message if the reconciliation window needs to be shortened.

Features by Release

Every feature below is described in detail in the mapping documentation linked to it. See the PayTrace Integration Known Limitations article for the integration's scope and design decisions.

Version 1.0 (current) — Initial release

  • Invoice delivery through PayTrace: invoices awaiting payment and orders placed on account become PayTrace invoices, emailed to the customer with a secure pay link (iPaaS.com to PayTrace Invoice Mapping Documentation).

  • Invoice changes and cancellation: a changed amount, recipient list or partial-payment setting replaces the PayTrace invoice, and a cancelled transaction deletes it (iPaaS.com to PayTrace Invoice Mapping Documentation).

  • Optional deletion: a transaction deleted in iPaaS.com can delete its PayTrace invoice (iPaaS.com to PayTrace Invoice Delete Mapping Documentation).

  • Pay link, status and balance write-back: the pay link, PayTrace invoice status, amount paid and balance are written onto the iPaaS.com transaction (PayTrace to iPaaS.com Invoice Mapping Documentation).

  • Card payments as payment lines: approved payments, refunds, voids, declines and authorizations come back as Transaction Payments (PayTrace to iPaaS.com Invoice Mapping Documentation).

  • Payment notifications and reconciliation: payments arrive within moments of being made, and a scheduled reconciliation brings back expiries, voids and refunds (PayTrace to iPaaS.com Invoice Mapping Documentation).

  • Balance handling: after a partial payment, refund, void, expiry or cancellation, a setting per situation re-issues a PayTrace invoice for the balance or leaves it to your team (PayTrace Connections and Settings).
