Introduction to Square
Square is a flexible commerce platform that lets businesses accept payments, manage inventory, run payroll, and sell online or in-person from a single ecosystem of hardware and software tools.
Used by SMBs across retail, food and beverage, and services that want an all-in-one commerce and payments solution
Popular with businesses selling across both physical and online channels that need unified reporting and inventory management
Connecting Square to iPaaS.com enables transaction, product, and customer data to flow automatically into your Ecommerce, ERP and back-office systems, giving you a complete view of sales and financials across every channel
API Version Support
The integration works with your account's Square API. Square manages API versioning through the Square-Version request header rather than the URL path, and the base URL is determined by your environment (production or sandbox). The connection is configured with your Square credentials. See the Square Connections and Settings and Square API Endpoints articles for details.
Data Flows
The table below summarizes the data the integration can move between iPaaS.com and Square, and in which direction. Arrows show the direction of transfer:
→ iPaaS.com writes the data to Square
← iPaaS.com reads the data from Square
←→ the data can move in both directions
Allow Initialization? indicates whether that data can be bulk-loaded from Square when a subscription first connects. Whether a given flow is enabled, and in which direction, is configured per subscription during implementation.
iPaaS.com | Direction | Square | Allow Initialization? |
Product | → | Item | |
Customer | ← | Customer | |
Order | ← | Order |
Products transfer to Square as catalog items with their variants, options, and option values; orders come into iPaaS.com with their line items, discounts, and payments (tenders).
