A Kit is a bundle definition attached to a product or variant. The kit declares the bundle type, and its components list the other products inside it - each referenced by SKU with a quantity and a unit. Other systems call this a Bundle, Assembly, Composite Product, or Set.

Kits let iPaaS.com represent that one sellable item is really several stocked items - a gift bundle, a manufactured assembly, a configure-to-order add-on set. You sell the kit's SKU, and downstream systems can explode it into its components for inventory, fulfillment, or manufacturing.

Because components point at other products by SKU, kits create dependencies between products: the component products must already exist in iPaaS.com before the kit that references them can be created. When planning a catalog sync, component items are sequenced ahead of the kits that contain them.
