How iPaaS.com Thinks About Transaction Addresses
A Transaction Address is a billing or shipping address on an order. Other systems call it a Ship-To, Bill-To, Order Address, or Shipping/Billing Address.
One model serves both billing and shipping, distinguished by a type and primary-billing / primary-shipping flags rather than by separate record types. It carries the usual address fields plus a phone number, names, company, and shipping detail (method, amount, ship date). The order header carries a collection of addresses, and each line can also carry its own address for split shipments.
Note that the address on the order exists independently on that order and will not automatically update if a customer or company address is updated.
Not a Location. A transaction address is a per-order ship-to/bill-to that changes with every order. It is not the same as an inventory Location, which is a stable place where stock is held. Don't map a delivery address onto a Location.
