Product Catalog Categories

Know the structure of your products across all of your sales channels

Product Catalog Categories are used to create and edit categories for your products. For example, you can have Apparel and Toys categories for your Pet stores. Parent categories can have child categories, so Coats and Sweaters can be a child of Apparel. Winter Coats can be a child of Coats and Sweaters child of Apparel.

Adding Product Catalog Categories

To add a product category:

  1. Click Data Management > Product Catalog Categories.

  2. On the Product Catalog Categories form, click Add Catalog Category.

  3. On the New Category form, add a Name and a Description.

  4. Select the Parent category if this new category is a child.

  5. Click Apply. The new category is created.

Editing Product Catalog Categories

You can edit your existing categories with name or description changes, or changes to their parent/child status.

To edit a product catalog category:

  1. On the Product Catalog Categories form, select the category from the list and click the edit icon.
    You can also search by using the filter or by Name and Description or by External ID.

  2. Edit the entries in Edit Category.

  3. (Optional) You can add or edit Custom Fields and External IDs. See Custom Fields and External IDs for those procedures.

  4. When complete, click Apply, and the record is updated.
