The Gift Cards data model manages gift cards and store credits across sales channels. You can add, edit, or delete gift cards.
How iPaaS.com Thinks About Gift Cards
A Gift Card is a stored-value instrument - a card number, an original amount, a live balance, a status, and optional links to the customer and transaction that issued it. Other systems call it a Stored-Value Card, Loyalty Card, Store Credit, Gift Certificate, or Rewards Card.
iPaaS.com holds the canonical card and its balance so the same card works across POS, e-commerce, and the issuing system - a card sold in-store can be redeemed online and vice versa. Because the balance is live, an integration decides up front whether to sync the balance directly or derive it from the card's Activity ledger (the safer choice when both systems keep their own running balance).
One model, several sources. A single integration can map more than one source concept onto this model - for example both gift cards and loyalty/store-credit cards - distinguished by the card type (Giftcard vs Store Credit) or a custom field. Don't assume one source object per card.

To add Gift Cards:
Click Data Management > Gift Cards.
On the Gift Cards form, click Add Gift Card.
Fill out the Gift Card Management form.
Required fields are:
Gift Card Number: the card identifier
Type: Gift Card or Store Credit
Status: Active, Expired, Void, Redeemed, or Pending
Balance: the remaining value on the card or credit
System: the subscription system of record
Select the customer from the Customer Name dropdown. Selecting a customer automatically selects the customer's email address.
Fill out other fields as needed.
Click Apply to save the new gift card or store credit.
You can edit gift cards or store credits to add more funds, change status, or change an expiration date.
NOTE: In some jurisdictions, gift cards do not expire.
To edit a gift card:
Click Data Management > Gift Cards.
On the Gift Cards form, search for or select a customer in the list and then click the edit button. iPaaS.com displays the record on the Gift Card Management form.
You can work with Custom Fields, External IDs, and Activities.
You can add or edit Custom Fields and External IDs. See Custom Fields and External IDs for those procedures.
To view gift card activities, select Activities. Click the icon under Actions to view more details.
When complete, click Apply, and the record is updated.
